An Academic Resilience Coach offers a variety of benefits. These benefits include achieving academic success, building confidence, developing resilience, reducing stress and anxiety, communication skills, increasing motivation, improving overall well-being, navigating life transitions, strengthening relationships, and building a toolbox of life skills. Working with an Academic Resilience Coach can help young people develop essential skills and mindset to succeed academically and personally.

Being a teenager in today's world can be a challenging experience. Similarly, being a parent can be an equally challenging period. Often as parents, we are preoccupied with our responsibilities and failed to recognize the difficulties our children face daily, including academic stress, peer pressure, self doubt, bullying, and a low self esteem to name a few.

Having worked in education for over 30 years, I have had the opportunity to interact with students aged between 12 to 25 years. Despite the age difference, the most common factors that hinder young people from achieving their potential are fear, self doubt, and lack of vision or goals.

It is essential to set boundaries, believe in your vision, and teach others how to treat you. Do not allow other peoples misguided beliefs or opinions to define who you are supposed to be. You are in control of your journey, and you hold the pen to create your own path.

Julia King can help you:

  • Achieve academic success: By helping young people with the necessary skills and mindset to succeed academically, including setting and achieving goals, managing time effectively, and overcoming obstacles.

  • Build confidence: By identifying their strengths and working to overcome their weaknesses.

  • Reduce stress and anxiety: The pressure to succeed academically can be overwhelming for young people, and many struggle with stress and anxiety as a result. By helping them manage these feelings by introducing them to relaxation techniques and stress reduction strategies.

  • Increase motivation: by providing support, encouragement, and accountability.

  • Navigate life transitions: whether starting high school / college / University or entering the workforce, face many major life transitions. I can help them navigate these transitions by providing guidance and support during these challenging times.

  • Build the toolbox of life skills: I can help build a toolbox of essential life skills that they can use throughout their lives, from problem solving and decision making, to self-care and stress management techniques.

The purpose of the FREE introductory Zoom meeting is to determine if there is a compatible fit by the end of the session. Prior to booking an appointment for a child under 18, it's important to ensure your child is willing to work with an Academic Resilience Coach.

Establishing privacy is crucial to build trust with your child, so I'll speak to your child alone during the session. This session will involve a survey in getting to know your child, as well as discussing what led them to me. After 45-minutes we'll know
if there is a positive and beneficial coaching partnership.
